Governor's Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs, Literature Professor and Director of Judaic Studies, University of Maryland Baltimore County; Award-winning Author

Step into the shoes of Friddie Stoleru to uncover the hidden stories of Romania during World War !!. Born in 1919 in Bucharest, Romania, Friddie spent nine years in a Romanian prison, followed by four years in a labor camp after the disappearance of her husband.

Friddie’s journey reveals the true, tragic-heroic stories of the Jewish Romanian community, set against the backdrop of Romania’s oppressive regimes. This presentation underscores the enduring need for compassion and kindness, even in the darkest times.
